Unmoving...uncaring...Jack lies in silence.
Not dead, never quite alive...he thinks to himself. His mind drifts to how he got to this point...and then is met with nothing. He tries to think about before...only to be met with utter darkness...he goes further...the darkness still remains. Further and further into his memories and only darkness. With one last hope, he arrived at his first memory.

Though it would make sense not to remember his first seconds of existence, for him, the problem lied in the fact that he did remember it...being that of hundreds of different encounters. Once in an ancient castle, once in a snow-covered sky, once in a city, once in a capsule, once in a spaceship, once in a space station...though each scenario couldn't have possibly have occurred at once, every time he checked his data the images overlayed onto one another when read as oldest to newest, forming a blob of color. Worse yet, this anomaly had occurred in the recollection of any past acquaintances. Each face, each body, each species...unrecognizable. Frogs, Tellys, Mets, Humans, Compasses, Knights, Angels, Devils, Masks, cyclopes with misaligned eyes...it had all been molded into a disturbing figure. It was only through the careful process of stripping the layers that the images could be seen clearly...yet no names could be given to them. No locations could be given to them. Be they friend or foe, be they lovers or haters, be that family or random strangers. Be they what gave him purpose. None of it was known.

The idea that his mind was filled with memories yet no just cause to them...that he had lived a thousand timelines but it all was for nothing...

Thousands upon thousands of letters and numbers flashed in his vision, each one being read by his own voice despite not being the one choosing to do so. The barrage of garbage data quickly came to stress his processor's power. His CPU raced and asked itself how such a simple thought could use power and quickly ran through each and every single scenario, each resulting in something unsatisfactory. Even as he did this, he knew what the truth was, what the root of the problem was. And yet the idea of even taking acknowledgement of it seemed so uncanny and taboo that he feared it would break his CPU. Sure, some machines could emulate it, but those same machines could just as easily shut it off. So why was he different? He had managed it before, but despite disabling every single piece of his personality, the thought and feelingstill remained. And yet...what else was there to do? He could not move, could not see. No one was coming to save him. And so...
He relented.

Slowly, steadily, various lines appeared, curving and shortening. When they were done they formed the word...

FEAR

The single phrase entered his mind...followed by clear silence. A strange...something...swelled from within. He couldn't quite place his finger on it, but it felt like something worth...protecting. Something worth all the blurry pictures, all the blackouts and all the unfamiliar faces...

He suddenly felt himself being lifted by his own legs and his own visor opening as per his automated protocol. Through his green vision, a strange blob came into focus, letting out a cry loud and somber enough to make the heavens rain. Behind him, a line of colors that stood out from the darkness he was used to.

Slowly, step by step, Jack walked towards the blob. As he got closer, an identification marker appeared in his head.
So his name is Quin...
Huh?
Quin, upon seeing the metal skeleton, naturally jumped back...off the tower.
Nooooo!
He closed his eyes as down he fell, the wind picking up...then a loud thud before the silence...wasen’t that what was supposed to happen? So why was there this strange feeling within his torso? As he opened his eyes, a large metal bone had pierced him and was dragging him upwards. As Quin reached the ledge, there was a somewhat familiar machine shaped like a snake.
Finally with that blob safe, Jack breathed a sigh of relief.

Mech-tenant tries to turn around, but instead takes a kick to the back, launching him into the air, which he uses to recover and land just in time evade a series of punch and kicks, nearly falling for a faint but successfully blocking the last punch, which successfully forces him back.

(Either he's trying way too had to be theatrical... or there's a certain limit up to what he can see ahead.)
