I've been grinding in the Master Field for the past 30 minutes and I haven't gotten a single core. I'm using Mega Man at level 100, with no other robots, and the only move I've been using is Mega Slide. My held item is a Weapon Upgrade. What am I doing wrong?
I haven't been getting any cores

You need to use their weakness type like say for example 
Dynamo Man he is weak to Space And Shadow If you use a weapon with a core like that e.g Magic Card or Astro Crush then you will get his core which is an Electric Core
This is NOT ALWAYS GUARANTEED THERE IS A 50% Chance
Or you can hit them with regular attacks then finish them off with a super effective attack

What if I hit them with an regular attack, then finish them off with their weakness?
I've had instances of the enemy switching out one robot master for another.

@GammaGuardian : As long as you finish them with a super-effective attack, you can get their core. There's also the chance of a core dropping if the attack, no matter the type, happens to be critical, but as this is luck it won't really help much
