...well, there are those Prototype World Rings that have been popping up recently, right?
I haven't been able to keep perfect track, but I think only three have popped up so far, but they all seem to parallel final World Rings.
Dr. Doppler, I've gathered a bit of data on the Prototype World Rings, and hopefully with it we can pinpoint at least one with the radar.
Hm...what rings are these?
...what poor soul could wield a ring such as that?
...
Sorry about the holdup.
Ah, there you are Rika. What exactly happened?
Nothing important.
Well...now that you're here, could you help us with these?
Hm...the Sage Medallions and Purity Heart, huh?
Well, considering that the Sage Medallions awaken the power of Hyrule's Sages - hence the name - I'd imagine that a transformation would grant someone power nearly equal to said Sages. That'd include their individual elemental abilities, as well as general repelling of evil.
And given how it was formed, a transformation from the Purity Heart would likely give the user love-based powers. In practice, it'd probably be like the non-elemental use of the Sage Medallions.
Of course, given that these were designed to stop evil specifically, that narrows down their potential wielders. Not quite to the "pure of heart" level of the Crystal Coconut, but morality and history are definitely factors.

...
...Get out of my Extra Stage. I have more important things to deal with than you.
I'm going to kill you, Seija.
Hm.
Given her research of the other artifacts, I'd expect Rika to have some theories about these as well.
Unfortunately, what that woman told her about "Seija" and an "Extra Stage" seemed to immediately alter her priorities...
What was that all about, anyway?
...
...I'm going to go check on her.
You aren't getting away this time!!!
Indeed, I am.
I highly doubt Mecha clarified why our world was like it was...
...but that's besides the point.
I presume the Robotniks are refusing to cooperate, or even trying to take control of Regulus themselves?
My research does show they've often tried to control forces beyond their power. The Deadly Six, the Time Eater, Dark Gaia...even you and Chaos.
...I'm only aware of the latter two.
Wait, so would that mean your Eggman-
...never mind, that was inappropri-
He was killed shortly after Black Doom's death.
Oh.
Oh, just the person who built this place. Who, might I add, is much more than willing to move your general direction to oblivion.
Oh, there you are.
...what were you doing back there?
I was...checking for something.
Hrnngh! (Checking for what?)
For this.
I had to ensure it was still in my possession, as the one who wields the Time Stones pointed out to me that whoever wields the Sol Emeralds would benefit greatly from the Medallion's ability to increase the power of fire attacks.
You let him just have the Time Stones?
...yes. Even if he's not as immediately available, I still trust that he'll properly use the power of the Time Stones when the time is right.
...
To tell you the truth, I've given up on trying to find people with elemental weaknesses anyway. They're few and far between, and as Sleet Man proved, also not prone to response.
So if you wish to wield the Nature Medallion...
...so be it.
Marisa?!
Seija?!
My Extra Stage?!
Dopp, you're taking it from here. Nobody touches my Extra Stage.
Um...
...well, Rika suggested that if the sheer force of combined opposing parties wasn't enough to stop Regulus from siphoning the energy, it could still be brought back by someone who's willing to "bend the rules" like him, Duracell, or Dark Elf.
She also pointed out this would make Dark Elf a potentially obvious target, which could theoretically lead to a back-and-forth "power struggle" comparable to her actions early in her round of the Duracell Games.
Hm. What do you say about all this, MS?
...MS?
So, Unbeatable Air, what did you need to discuss?
Where is that upside-down piece of
?!?!
Gh!
RAARRRGH!!!
Is...is Meta Knight okay??
Chunky Kong...you have truly mastered your abilities.
The training is over.
The six of you must ensure you keep what you've learned in mind. We don't know whether it will be us or Regulus who strikes first, nor do we know how to approach him, so our strength is all we can rely on.
Ah wouldn't say just our strength...
Hm?
Ya 'memba da Rainbow Drops, don't ya? Kirby used dem to wield da Rainbow Sword!
...
Oh. Right. Y'were outta town fer dat adventure. Well, he did do dat.
And dose Sol Emeralds can 'parently give folks a Burning form!
Hold on, I've researched these before...aside from Metal, the Chaos Rings have never powered someone up before.
And even if the Crystal Stars at least have indepenent forms of power-ups, they and the Time Stones have never given someone a new form period.
...well, not yet.
What do ya mean "yet"?
As long as these artifacts have some sort of power, theoretically they could empower someone like the Chaos Emeralds and Sol Emeralds.
...what kind of power would that be?
We don't know for sure, but I have some theories...
Given the ability the Chaos Rings have to destroy Dark Rings, it's possible that one with the power of Chaos Rings would become a being of purity.
Since the Time Stones could control time on their own, absorbing their power could transfer some of that time control to their user.
And given the history of the Crystal Stars, absorbing their power may grant the abilities of a legendary hero, much like those who used them to stop the Shadow Queen.
Well, even if those abilities can be used, I feel like there's still something putting us at risk...
...what if Regulus siphons their energy before or while someone else used them, like with the World Rings?
I hope to see you again when the bell chimes for Regulus, Mighty.
You cannot hope to rival my power unless you release your true potential!
Rgh...
URAAAGH!!!
!!!
Waurgh!
HIYIYIYAH!!!
(What Chunky do?!)
(Hmm...)
In the words of one of my peers..."Personally, I prefer the air."
Hey, don't take it too hard, Mighty. Even if you didn't finish the job, you were the only being we knew before just a few minutes ago who even put a dent in him.
I'd say this battle goes to you more than me.
Wow...those wire frame thingies were cruel...
I never thought a coat of metal would be enough to make a copy of Mario that durable...
Hmh! (I felt like I was using more hiding eggs than throwing eggs against that Yellow Devil...)
*boowoop* (I forgot just how immense the power of Pauline was...)
Well, that just leaves one...
...Chunky Kong.
You're a unique pupil, due to the power of your Ultra Inst-
...uh, Ape Action.
So...what Chunky need to fight to learn it?
Polygon people? Big hands? Angel thingy with big lasers?
No, Chunky. To prove you can master Ape Action, you must face one of the strongest warriors known to Smash Brothers...
Me.
I mean, sure, we can prepare for Regulus, but that doesn't speed anything up.
Look at it this way, Dyna: The sooner we prepare ourselves, the better.
Speaking of which...you mentioned Metal Sonic's team, right?
Uh...yeah.
Look in front of you.
If anyone in the lab has questions, Sanae and I can explain.
I just...I don't want to lose this world, Kogasa. This is a world where I can be free, and even if it's not the first world of its kind, I can't stand to imagine how long I'll have to wait until I get my chance of freedom again.
Dyna, your mind is stuck in a worst-case scenario.
Think about this: even if Duracell or Regulus could destroy the Omniverse, who's the person that controls them?
...Walter. Or whoever's running that account right now.
Well, whoever it is, are they Beta Shadow or Ninja Phantom?
Koga, part of why we got into this mess is because we were idolizing Beta Shadow.
I'm not saying it to idolize them. What I mean is that Beta Shadow and Ninja Phantom are the only two normal users on this site with the power to delete the thread.
...why are we talking about the thread?
Because that's the true thing keeping this world intact, Dyna.
You were in Absurd Roleplay, right? You remember being Dyna Fight Advance there, right?
...well, yeah. It was kind of a big thing that helped you make me realize I was a Pseudoreaper.
The reality of that world may have collapsed on itself. It may have sapped most of their memories from there. But technically, it still exists.
Sure, the Trio of Origin wasn't willing to restore it. But they don't belong to the person who made the thread. The person who did make it left it intact, and had people not chosen to leave, things might have picked up where they left off.
So think about this: Unless Beta Shadow - in both senses of his identity - was willing to let this world go down at Regulus' hands, could he really keep it that way?
...
But again, that's the worst-case scenario.
The way things are shaping up, it seems like we might have a chance against Regulus whenever he shows up. So let's prepare for that instead.
Dyna, what's wrong?
I just...I'm confused.
Ever since I wrecked Team Mecha I've had no clue what we're doing.
First that Coda guy showed up and just...left, leaving us to deal with an incurable Kiddy Kong, then I hear everyone talking about Regulus coming and how we need to prepare for him, and since then...he's just done nothing. All that's been happening is Duracell showing off and not letting anyone stop him with no end in sight.
You know the fourth wall. You saw Metal Sonic rally his troops. He did that because he thought something was actually coming. Now he's going to be lucky if Sonic and Tails even come back from space with the rest of the Super Emeralds.
Like, what's supposed to happen?! Regulus has ignored everything and given nothing in response! Is he supposed to show up soon? Are the games supposed to be cut short by him, or are they supposed to continue even though Mr. Battery Acid-hat is more resilient than a carton of Jazzes mixed with a cup of Meteor Graves?!
I want answers, Kogasa. I want answers from this Omniverse that amount to more than "go
yourself and die".
I know your game, Duracell. You're going to do everything you possibly can not to lose.
Fortunately for us, I'm prepared to ensure you can't win, either.
Dark Elf | Level: Why are you reading this? | Energy: Like, it's pretty obvious | Attack: she's not going to let anything affect her. | Defense: Honestly, I just had this here in the first place | Speed: because even Duracell had it, even though he's about on the same level or lower.
Neither you nor Dark Elf are on my good graces, "G. Rizzle". It's best you stay out.
I'm going to keep doing that.
