4 shards make a core automatically, for shield cores you can
a) grind enker with a robot with copy soul and no held item then putting the core away to make room for another
b) take drill man with a fortune module to a field with a high shield modifier and hope his gold digger skill kicks in, which is slower
you unlock skins to buy at kalinka's shop by either using the robots or leveling up her shop by doing other stuff

MIDI: Hm. Looks like we spooked him just in time, or he would've gone through with making some sort of jack-of-all-trades light-in-the-dark economy-saving super robot.
MIDI: N-not that that's a bad thing, in fact we could use one right about now, but it's REGAL. He would've had him gain everyone's trust and then seize control of the entire planet or something!

MIDI digs into the In Theory folder, specifically looking for stuff he could make use of. Even if there is something that seems related to Woe's research, it isn't showing up on the projection. Peculiar.

MIDI jumps out of a pile of ash and wipes his monitor.
MIDI: Whuh? Oh, a modem.
MIDI: Yeah, it's in great condition for something that blew up. I can do something, but it's still just a modem's buffer so don't expect much.
