His perception disoriented by the Confusion, Metal Sonic's attempts to dodge the returning missiles lead to him being struck by a couple dozen, and shocking himself a few times before he tries to hit Dubstep Devil with a point-blank Electric Shock!

With Rotom Devil and Dubstep Devil distracted by Thomas and the unknown figures, Metal Sonic tries assaulting them with hundreds of Flint Missiles!

The Anti-Omni menaces prepare demonic flames from their palms...

Descant manages to finish off the Pandemonium Warden with a Flower Blast, letting the full crew focus on Absolute Virtue, who prepares to envelop half the arena with a blinding light!
Flint Missile: (Flame/Missile) The user fires an exploding missile that leaves behind a floating trail of fire, with the explosion also lingering as an extended radius of flames.
Form Summon: (Water/Copy) ??? strums his sitar, creating a swarm of watery clones that attack the opponent(s). ??? is invincible until all the water copies are destroyed.
Flower Blast: (Electric/Laser) Inherited from Rika's Flower Tank. The user fires a pair of continuous energy beams parallel to each other, potentially limiting the area where the opponent can safely move.

Regardless of the Axis Barrier's effectiveness, Metal Sonic wastes no time using at least its distraction as a change to go in for a Drill Dash 01, using a Thunder Shield to absorb the Thunderbolt at the same time!

Bounding off a toppled building, Reverse Man tries to hold Devil Elf back with an Instant Whirlwind, only for the vile songstress to retaliate with an Exa Searing Symphony, scorching Reverse Man and spreading the earth's hellfire further!
Meanwhile, a hot metal claw grabs the hooded figure by the head...

As Reverse Man's wing is restored through a quick Yashichi provided to him, Metal Sonic explains the plan further.
Each of the possible futures this Post can provide may be unlike a true loss to Beta Diablo, but they're dangerous environments in their own right. Dangerous enough that we will hone our skills before we return. Saktira, I trust your planning enough to let you go alone. Express, you will take Crescendo with you to keep him in check. 
What, you don't trust me enough to go alone?! ...as much as I'd be delighted to say yes, the true reason is simply that you lack the speed necessary to even use the Post properly alone. The man in the black coat will accompany Reverse Man for the same reasons, on top of the fact that the two are the closest to a pair with a relationship that isn't neutral or animous. Whoah, hold on, wait, we can talk about- YEAH!! Metal then turns to the figure who warded off Chance Man.

The Mini-Halberd's own defenses combine with R.O.B.'s Deluxe Reflector Arm to reflect the Eye Lasers, with the Hope Energy bringing the damage multiplier up to 4x!
Reflector Arm RECAP: (Swift/Shield) A variant of Rotor Arm. The user spins their torso and arms, knocking away opponents with a few low-damage hits, and reflecting any projectiles in range with greater power than the original projectile (the multiplier starts at 1.8x, and grows along with the ability's power level).

*References (in order): Gilgamesh's level in Final Fantasy VI re-releases starting with Advance (and his highest level as a boss in the series so far, to my knowledge), the level at which Chibi Kogasa evolves into Kogasa in Touhou Puppet Play 1.8, and Fang's level obtained from EXP gained within Chaos Zone itself. As for everyone else...well, EXP isn't easy to come by here (Dunno how Kogasa's Level 28, though). And as for why this is important...
†Up until the buildup to Regulus, Metal Sonic was just as antagonistic (if not more so) than his game counterpart; on the subject, it's also worth noting that he isn't native to the Chaos Zone, but rather from a Universe where Dr. Eggman was killed some time after the events of Shadow the Hedgehog; the Brash Crew, Team Mecha, Crescendo, and Chaos are the only ones aware of this.

Hello, sir. I'm still kinda surprised we pulled it off, but long story short, we had a lot of advanced technology, and a friend who has experience with time and its absence*. And we're here because...well, in our time, something really dangerous is coming, and we need training if we want to be even remotely useful when they arrive. I don't know that much about this place, but what I do know is that there's a friend of yours who could help us learn a thing or two. ???
As the robots and Limited of the Brash Crew (alongside RX, Dark Elf, and 'M FF) pass through the other end of the portal, they find themselves in a strange realm filled with dark vines and fungi, but also heavenly ferns and mountains.
You sure this isn't going to take too long? 
The worst-case scenario would be the opposite, actually. We have to defeat both of them in just two hours; even defeating just one of them is a rare feat. 
I mean, it's about 18 of us 'n two of them, right? 
Indeed. Which is why we considered it a powerful test of strength if we conquered them when the odds are against us. 
† ...I get that Beta Diablo's gonna be bad enough with just the one of him, but who'd we find who could give us a time like that?

You don't let anyone solve these problems, then you don't even try to solve them yourself- Hey, any of you know that guy with the big cannon arms? *gulp* *Recap: Shadow Digital spent several years (I'd estimate a decade) in the Void after his home Universe was abandoned; he was actually just another Universe's Shadow Man before then, with pretty much every ability he has save for Shadow Blade coming from what little he experienced in the Void.
†Recap: Dyna Man, Sonic Man, and Volt Man have access to a power called the Supercharge, which boosts their strength and gives each of their abilities an additional type. This is why Dyna Man looks this way; he Supercharged ahead of time.

Wait, did you just call me his fr- *Reference: Chrono Trigger - Spekkio teaches magic to only four of the seven party members over the course of the game, and one party member is taught some time after the first three.
†Recap: Spekkio was introduced on Page 293, Post #17, teaching Stanley the Bugman how to use magic (but not Sheep Man due to the aforementioned "artificial soul" situation, hence only the non-mechanical members entering the End of Time).

Meta Knight leaps out of the Mini-Halberd, returning to normal size as he combines some Hope Energy from the Love-Love Stick with his Rainbow Drop-infused Galaxia to unleash an empowered Drill Rush, traveling far enough to skewer hundreds of the green eyes, with any possible splashes of Grey Matter sloughing right off him!

Rika, Dr. Doppler, and Enemice HL have finished constructing a row of five gateways, each leading to a different Universe.
Right, then. These all lead to different Universes; each one of them is going to provide some form of training that will give us an edge, but not actually screw things up for its inhabitants. 
The two rightmost portals shall be used by all of us, once our individual challenges are complete. In the center, and directly to the left of it, those of us who are mechanical in nature, Limited included, as well as Dark Elf and 'M FF, shall be facing our own form of training. Why not have all friends go together? I'm joining the first group because something tells me I would simply be complimented on the powers I already have*, which would waste our time...or at least, what the equivalent would be. 'M FF is staying with Shadow Digital because we don't want to run the risk of endangering the location in the fifth portal*. As for the bots...long story short, there's the idea of them having an "artificial soul"†. Normally I would argue about such a thing... ...but I'm not about to argue with a guy who can drop our HP to 1*. Mega City

†Reference/Recap: A general idea carried over from Absurd Roleplay (which I'm mainly just referencing because that's useful context for NintendoPanda) is that robots have artificial souls. I The Brash Crew has varying thoughts on this, but don't expect it to be a vocal complaint unless it's being used in an unambiguously antagonistic way.
‡ If you have any idea what franchise this character is from, you probably know how much of a lost cause it'd be to explain the context. Either I'd be talking too much, or too little.
