SciLab Archival Server

The whole place is packed tight with huge server towers spanning out of render distance up and down. The decor is also reminiscent of how the Net was almost a decade ago, with color-crushed prerendered SciLab logos spinning in the background.
Jerry: Well, he's probably around here somewhere.
PlugMan: When was this place's last OS update? Sheesh.
SheepMan: Two-AH!-urs ago. I assume you're here because of the viruses? Well, i found something interesting! The strange state of the viruses was actually caused by cross-contamination with two distinct data-altering conditions. The first one, responsible for the version switching, is Noise Pollution.
PlugMan: Don't remind us. We got ambushed by a buncha noisy Juragons down under. Barely survived.
SheepMan: Juragons? You're lucky to be here. Anyway, the other... well, it's kind of ironic. The other alteration is some sort of algorithm that causes the viruses to shift in color and... something else, but I can't tell what. However, it's contagious, so it can't be good. The ironic part... It was created by one doctor Ivory Woe, who is an avid opponent of utilizing Noise for technological advancement. He's a hard fellow to track down, though.
Jerry: So, do you need us to...No need, I'll find him myself. I'll call you if I need assistance, though. In the meantime, you can get back to whatever you were doing before.
SheepMan turns to the DOSNavis.
SheepMan: You're friends of PlugMan's, right? Got in here along with him during the emergency jack-out? I'm supposed to show you out, but it's too much of a hassle, so feel free to stick around here in the archives or Mr.Harriet's workstation. Just please don't touch any confidential files.

Chord stumbles out of the train.
Please tell me there's a different way to do interdimensional travel. (I think I'm gonna be sick. And I'm a robot.)

PlugMan: No, no, I can't just leave you in the middle of the road like that! Come with me, just stay close and don't touch anything.

PlugMan starts walking... well, how would you know where? It's your first time deeper than one area* in the SciLab net! Either way, he motions for you to follow.
*It's my headcanon that only SciLab Area 1 is open to the public while the others are reserved for internal use.

SciLab Area 2

Four Navis are forcibly ejected from a cramped PET into a slightly less cramped PC, then exit into the actual cyberspace.
PlugMan: Whew! That was horrible!
Jerry: Yup! Let's never do that again! Also, uh, maybe we shouldn't let your pals snoop around SciLab's private network? I-it could cost us our jobs?
PlugMan: Bah, chill out, Jerry. They wouldn't! Right now, our main priority is-getting through to SheepMan and telling him what happened. Yeah. I'm already writing an e-mail.

OVER-Ф violently bends forwards, throwing CD4 off, then Shornukens it and kicks it into the wall of one of the towers.
I don't have a choice, do I?
He chuckles to himself, the presence of two tiny animals who are apparently war veterans seemingly lifting his mood.
Meh, why not? As long as we don't waste too much time.

Crimson Crypt

Serenade stares blankly into the void as the Data Sea recedes to its normal state.
...Well, Serenade? What was that?
That was DevilMan, one of "Lord Wily"'s first - and strongest - autonomous combat Navis.
A few years back, just before World Three's first strike, Wily must've recalled the existence of the Forbidden Program. The very same one I'm tasked with protecting. He thought it may pose a threat to his plans, as if Alpha was susceptible to it, the Life Virus definitely was too. So he sent... him... to retrieve it. I suppose he thought DevilMan was strong enough to overcome the Program's defense mechanism. But that's not how it worked and no amount of physical strength or Noise manipulation could save him.
Either way, the Program froze him in place, I sealed him under Area 4 and chained him for good measure, as I suspected he may still have a slim chance to thaw out.

Serenade more profoundly leans over the ledge, staring into the nothingness under the Data Sea.
Even so, I fear that he's not bluffing and may still come back. Nobody's sure what happens to data that gets flushed down there, anyway.
And you don't have to handle that on your own! Dad handed you down to me for a reason! Because he knew I'd be capable of managing the Undernet, not because I need a babysitter! Please, the next time you do something reckless like this, tell me!
...
...Thank you, Mamoru. I may not show it as much as I should, but I do appreciate your support.

Mamoru smiles back.
