I know about that thread, and I think it answers all the common questions for unlocking robots, but for someone just joining the game, Mechanics has always been a tutorial sort of category. In other words, if I had this problem, I would be more inclined to look in Mechanics than Strategies for my answer. Why would strategies answer my question? Strategies is more for "I'm having trouble unlocking robots." as opposed to "How in the heck do I get new robots?" I'm not saying there should be a topic in Mechanics because it's "not a strategy", I'm not trying to be nit-picky. I'm saying that if I was a novice looking to learn the basics of the game (and I think we can all agree that unlocking robots is a "basic"), I would look in Mechanics, not Strategies.

I've seen a lot of confusion on unlocking robots in general, and I think that it deserves its own thread in either General or Mechanics (preferably Mechanics because that's what it's there for and that category hasn't been used for quite some time).

I'm pretty sure that's the only way, although you won't be able to unlock all the characters you meet; you have to use normal attacks only against them on their own stage. Ergo, RMs whose stages haven't been made cannot be unlocked at this time. I think what you're looking for is this.

I've never played MM8, so I don't know who Duo A and O are, just that they're my initials :). Are they the Evil Robot and Duo?

Also, I'm interested in seeing the triple dichotomy in Trio and how they will oppose each other in nature. Will it be happiness, sorrow, and anger? Fire, water, and earth? Light, time, and space? Do you have anything planned for Trio so far? Btw, I do like the story (Protoman shield surfing ftw), although it's kinda sad how easily everyone was just slapped into the machine. Can't wait to fight it/her!

Just do what you would do for single type except add a _ betwwen them. For example, Thunder Beam would be [ Thunder Beam ] {electric _ laser} without the spaces.

Ummm.....I'm confused. What exactly does a dualcore do for a MECHA? Are you suggesting giving them a bigger variety of attacks by doing so?

Man, I KEEP FORGETTING STARFORCE! Well, that explains a lot. Unfortunately, Laser Starforce are probably going to be more scarce than Electric or Missile, huh?

Bright Burst has freaking 3038 power.
I've been wondering about this for awhile, but I haven't gotten around to bringing it up until this perfect example fell into my lap.

Thunder Beam has a power of 24 on the database, while Magnet Missile has 14. However, in this picture (where the multiplier is Electric x 9.8), Thunder Beam has 1235 power while Magnet Missile has 2450! Since when is 1235 > 2450!? Why on EARTH would I use Thunder Beam in this case (Except to have a chance to up my attack...)? Also worth mentioning, Spark Shock and Thunder Strike both have a standard power of 16, but don't even scratch 1000 in this picture. Is there some factor in gameplay that I've missed? Because this is a glaring issue to me.
