Welcome Prototype players! You've come at just the right time. There have been some extreme changes to the battlefield lately, so let me catch you up.

Tomahawk Man

Wow, we've been on a roll with these Mega Man 6 Robot Masters. Tomahawk Man enters the battle, ready to wield his mighty tomahawk to bring his enemies to their knees.

tomahawk-man          tomahawk-man_alt

Tomahawk Man debuts in the new Challenge Mission Master of the Tomahawk, a one on one-ish battle; just think of the beetles as cheerleaders. Best his tomahawk with only neutral abilities, and you can recruit Tomahawk Man!

tomahawk-man_alt3          tomahawk-man_alt2

Though he is an expert in many weapons, Tomahawk Man primarily uses his Silver Tomahawk, an Earth and Cutter core Tier 2 ability that is so sharp it is capable of cutting right through enemy barriers. It also hits twice, just to rub salt in the wound.

tomahawk-man_alt2    silver-tomahawk    tomahawk-man

Master of the Tomahawk is sure to be an engaging challenge, but it isn't the only one in this update. If you have been keeping up with the forums or the discord, you would know we recently developed a community lead challenge mission! Through a series of polls, we decided who it would focus on and what their themeing would be. So, may I present to you, Dust in the Wind! I promise it doesn't suck. dust-man

Dust Man Challenge

The Prototype has had many bugs over the years, so Dust Man has assembled a crew to help clean things up. They'll sweep the floor with you! You'll find already implemented Robot Masters and Abilities here, but if you want some more new content, we have a couple more things to show off.

New Abilities

If you enjoyed the Mega Man V weapon Grab Buster from last time, we have another for you! Put on some sunglasses first though, cause this one's gonna cause a bright bang.

It takes a while to get going, but the Photon Missile packs a serious punch once it connects! It's kinda suprising this is our first Missile and Explode ability, huh? Well, if you like new core combos, I've got another new one for you, and from some suprising source material to boot.

Yes, the master of magnetism himself (eat your heart out Magnet Man) has lent his power to the Prototype's arsenal. Now, this brings up all sort of interesting lore questions we will promptly ignore. Maybe next time we can get his weakness, the Wooden Gun. drill-man    magnetic-shockwave    plug-man

On the topic of fighting games, Pharaoh Man and Gemini Man sport new defend sprites based on the arcade fighting games. pharaoh-man gemini-man

There have been some flavor text changes for a few Robot Masters. Keep your eyes peeled whenever you next encounter Bass, Wind Man, Pirate Man, and Ground Man in battle.

Speaking of Mega Man and Bass, the bio rewrite project is chugging along, giving Ground Man and Pirate Man new descriptions. Those two are having a good day, huh?

That is the end of this update. We actually updated the game two days ago, but wanted to give players a few days to try to find the content for themselves. Consider this post a guide for anything you might have missed! Fall is nearly upon us, so I hope you all had something fun to do this summer. If you didn't, I at least hope the Mega Man RPG Prototype has been there to keep you company. If you've been enjoying yourself, feel free to engage in the forums or join our discord server.

I'm running out of ways to say goodbye,

Hello everyone, I've come with some exciting news today. We are going to be letting the community create a challenge to appear in the Prototype! It will feature an already playable Robot Master (and any others we want to add that fit thematically or strategically) and already existing moves, and will be based on a Robot Master that does not already have a challenge. However, 50 or so Robot Masters fit this description, and that is way too many to vote on and get any meaningful results, so we are instead going to pick which game to pick the Robot Master from, and then we wil have a vote on the Robot Masters from that game. Comment below on whether or not you want a Robot Master from Mega Man 1, 2, 3, or 4 to be the star of the challenge. We are in no rush, so I will tally the vote once we have a good number of results in. If you have already voted on the discord, please don't vote here as well, or vice versa. You are also welcome to discuss what you would want the challenge to become or who you are advocating for, of course.

Can you smell it? The scent of heavy ozone? Can you feel the air tense with humidity? A storm is brewing.

Wind Man

Wind Man makes his debut, ready to show all the kung fu moves he's learned! They're real, he promises.

wind-man          wind-man_alt

Wind Man can be found in the new Challenge Mission Fists of Fury, where he has collected several other robots who know martial arts. His lightning fast moves are boosted by his poweful fans! Weather his storm by defeating him with only neutral abilities, and you can recruit Wind Man!

wind-man_alt3          wind-man

In addition to his punches and kicks, Wind Man can use his Wind Storm, a Wind core Tier 1 ability, to toss enemies around. If your lead robot is hit by the Wind Storm, they'll be thrown to the bench, assuming you have another robot to replace them.

wind-man_alt2    wind-storm    wind-man

But Wind Man isn't the only stormy robot in this update. We should see the next playable Robot Master any second now... given he decided to get out of bed.

Cloud Man

Cloud Man is now playable in the Prototype! Boy, its been a while since we've had a Robot Master from Mega Man 7 get added, huh?

cloud-man_alt3          cloud-man

Cloud Man is lurking in the new Challenge Mission Through Rain, Sleet, or Snow, joined by several other Robot Masters with a mastery over the weather. You can convince the cloud potato to join you if you defeat him with only neutral abilities.

cloud-man          cloud-man_alt

In this new Challenge Mission, you'll see Cloud Man use the Storm Bolt, an Electric core Tier 1 ability, which strikes the foe and then spreads to also hit both ends of the Opponent's bench. Just hope they don't have Battery Circuits.

cloud-man_alt    thunder-bolt    cloud-man_alt3

But thats not all Cloud Man can do. Thanks to his new skill Blustery, Cloud Man can also equip Wind core abilities. We've practically gotten two Wind core Robot Masters for the price of one!

cloud-man    gyro-attack    cloud-man_alt2

And we still have one more unlockable Robot Master today. I doubt he'll be late like the last one; that wouldn't be honorable.

Sword Man

Sword Man is on the scene and ready to bring some distinction the combat. En garde!

sword-man          sword-man_alt

Sword Man is ready to fight in his new Challenge Mission The Duel, where you must prove your mastery over the first four Robot Masters of Mega Man 8 in addition to exchanging blows with Sword Man himself. Do so with only neutral abilities and you will unlock Sword Man

sword-man_alt3          sword-man_alt2

Sword Man's Flame Sword is a Flame and Cutter core Tier 2 ability that ensures you play by the rules by lowering any positive stat changes the target robot has. And while this isn't new information, I will remind you Sword Man has the skill Noble Sword that allows Sword Man to natively equip Cutter core abilities. It would be weird if he couldn't do that.

sword-man_alt3 flame-sword    slash-claw sword-man

That's all three of the newly unlockable Robot Masters. You can find their challenges in the Challenge Tab.

... wait, did you see that? Analysts, enhance.

ENHANCE.

Is that...? Could it be?

Torch Man Introduction

He's here! He's here! We are now one step closer to every Robot Master from the mainline Classic series being present in the Prototype. Keep an eye out for him in Bonus Fields, Endless Mode, and futute Challenge Missions.

Additionally, Impact Man and Bounce Man have their base sprites available for preview. Be sure to thank MegaBossMan and Rhythm for their hard work. But thats not all they've been working on. Cut Man, Needle Man, and Crystal Man all have new sprite sheets thanks to MegaBossMan and Rhythm, and the latter has also been working on an insane amount of new alts. Below are some of these fantastic new color schemes (keep and mind many of these Robot Masters actually got SEVERAL new alts).

cut-man    needle-man    crystal-man

oil-man_alt4    centaur-man_alt2

commando-man_alt3    chill-man_alt2
strike-man_alt2    fuse-man_alt3
tundra-man_alt3    torch-man_alt3

cut-man    needle-man    crystal-man

That brings us to a close. It's an exciting update whe we get three new Robot Masters, three new abilities, one new skills, and more Robot Masters to encounter as enemies. June is right around the corner, so I wish you a happy summer, and hope to see you again soon.

... aw shucks, I'll throw you another bone. Grab Buster is now available too. Find it at your local Reggae dealer. grab-buster

Come, take a seat. I understand you had some issues to discuss. Do not mind the commotion next door, we have a patient with an... explosive personality.

Grenade Man

Grenade Man bursts onto the scene, bringing with him some costumes fitting for the pineapple bomb robot!

grenade-man_alt3          grenade-man_alt

Wielding the destructive Flash Bomb, Grenade Man is ready to level the battlefield! It's a little tricky to land, but it can hit up to three times and lower the opponent's attack stat.

grenade-man_alt2 flash-bomb    grenade-man

You'll have to take Grenade Man on in his new challenge mission and defeat him with only neutral moves to recruit him. Several Explosion loving Robot Masters have joined Grenade Man to bask in the mass destruction, seeming to even be healed by the chaos! Put Grenade Man on the ropes and you'll see his skill Blind Masochism take effect, giving him a sharp boost to his Attack stat!

New Skills

Ice Man's time in the tundra seems to have taken a toll on his social skills, as evident by the new skill Cold Reception. He'll boost the freeze multiplier upon entering the battle.

Search Man got an upgrade to his targeting abilities with Locked On, allowing him to hit benched robots with most abilities.

Blade Man will fight to the bitter end with For Honor, boosting his Defense stat by three stages when at critical health.

Abilities

The Shot, Buster, and Overdrive abilities now have full parity, being available for each element! This should give every Robot Master enough options to be able to stand on their own.

hard-man impact-shot    earth-shot stone-man

And with that, we're done! It's a smaller update, but the new moveset and skill combinations should give us plenty to play with. Patience is a virtue, so let us exercise it while we wait to see what the Prototype has in store for us.

Take it easy,

Extree extree! Read all about it! Two updates have been made to MMRPG! For just a nickel you can read about them! ... alright, if its for you, you can have them for free.

Yamato Man

The honorable warrior Yamato Man enters the battlefield, sporting some real spiffy costumes! This samurai isn't afraid to fight in style!
yamato-man_alt2          yamato-man_alt3

Yamato Man is ready to take on endless hoards of robots with the Yamato Spear! This baby does it all. It pierces shields, including core shields and the Proto Shield, and will keep firing until Yamato Man's stockpile runs out. Thanks to how the Prototype works, he doesn't need to clumsily pick the spear tips back up.
yamato-man_alt yamato-spear    yamato-man_alt4

To recruit Yamato Man's talents, you'll need to take him on in his challenge. Lets just take a looksee at the challenge board...

WHAT?! There are THREE new Challenges? And Yamato Man isn't even the only new Robot Master? Boy, I've been slacking. Let's get a move on!

Yamato Man has gathered three strong warriors to challenge you to a duel at Ganryu Island. Good luck surviving turn one! When you start to wear Yamato Man down, you just might see his skill Blossoming Bushido take effect!

When Yamato Man has low health, he'll get a sharp boost to his Attack stat! But Yamato Man isn't the only Robot Master to get a new skill!

New Skills

Burner Man can contain his burning desire no longer, and now has the skill Pyromania. If the flame field multiplier is at least 2.0, he'll get a one time sharp boost to his attack stat!

Quick Man also has a new tool in his skill Sonic Velocity. Like Yamato Man, if he's in a pinch, he'll get a sharp boost to one of his stats, but this time its his Speed!

Of course, Quick Man isn't the only Swift core robot to be featured in this update. Ladies and gentlemen, the PAIN TRAIN HAS ARRIVED!

Charge Man

Charge Man has arrived at Prototype station and is ready to derail the fight! And his smokestack isn't making you see things, he's got a vibrant set of colors! We already knew about his skill, but what if I told you he's got a move to take perfect advantage of it?
charge-man_alt    charge-kick    charge-man_alt2

Charge Kick is a devestatingly strong Swift and Impact move that uses the Speed stat to calculate damage rather than the Attack stat. Unfortunately, the user's Speed will also drop one stage... is what I would say if Charge Man's skill didn't negate stat changes! If you want this power for yourself, make sure to take on the Charge Man's new Mega Man Soccer inspired challenge! Are trains even allowed to play soccer? That seems unfair.

Charge Kick isn't the only noteworthy move in Charge Man's kit though. If you use Mecha Support...

charge-man    mouslider

Mechas

... you just might be in for a surprise! The mechas from Mega Man 5 have been added to the game! Well, their sprites have anyways. But Mouslider is here at least. Ain't he a cutie?

Now, do you remember that earlier screenshot of the challenge board? While there are only two new playable Robot Masters, a new mission has been added as a bonus!

In Tear Down this Wall, you'll face off mono y mono with a Defensively buffed Wood Man. Well, I say face off, but I don't think Wood Man is all that interested in damaging you. What is he up to? Try the challenge and find out!

Finally, we have some changes to select abilities.

Abilities

A set of Shot, Buster, and Overdrive abilities have been added for Shadow cores! And just in time for Halloween.
skull-man          astro-man

Rain Flush has been given a negative speed priorty. Blame it on the rain.
toad-man          solar-man

I don't know who Cut Man managed to bribe (it was MBM), but BOTH of his moves have been buffed! Rolling Cutter not more closely resembles Air Shooter, and Rising Cutter has been given the Earth core typing. Well, that last one might admittingly be moreso for Earth cores than Cutter ones. And don't expect it to last. We just wanted to throw Earth core robots a bone until they can get some more involved updates.
cut-man    rising-cutter    oil-man

That brings us to the end of this update. We have gotten quite a few toys to play with! I hope leaderboard climbers, S-rankers, and Endless Mode marathoners all got something to experiment with.

Au revoir,

Wwwwwelcome to a brand new episode of Prototype Update! We've got a special show in store for you, so break out the TV dinners and get ready to meet contestant number one!

Knight Man

At long last, Knight Man makes his debut, meaning we now have a third impact core playable robot master! His sprite sheet was done by veteran member MetalMan and his alts were done by Rhythm. I encourage you to take a look at those alts; it's easy to think they are as simple as dumping the robot in a can of paint, but Rhythm puts a lot of thought into how to best represent a Robot Master's history and personality with these alternate costumes!
metal-man       knight-man_alt3       bass_nature
But Knight Man isn't here alone. How else could he build up another victory streak without his trusty Knight Crusher?! It's a pretty bulky weapon, so it might be slow to swing around, but expect it to do some serious damage, both on the way there and back! And thank goodness it's an impact move; could you imagine Ice Man or Acid Man trying to lug this thing around?
knight-man       knight-crusher       knight-man_alt2

Speaking of impact core Robot Masters, Knight Man isn't the only cool kid on the block! Guts Man has a new sprite sheet courtesy of MegaBossMan.

   knight-man_alt                      guts-man

To unlock Knight Man, you'll have to best him in a brand new Challenge Mission! Knight Man has brought a gaggle of warriors from the First Annual Robot Master tournament, and although this is Knight Man's round table, these other opponents aren't exactly pushovers!

New Skills

We also have a couple new skills in the Prototype! Let's take a look before we get derailed.

The old chunk of coal Charge Man refuses to change with the times, and now comes equipped with the skill One-Track Mind, preventing his stats from being changed during battle! He's stubborn as an ox and has the horsepower of a whole stampede, so don't take this oldtimer lightly!

Tornado Man has been hard at work mastering his control over the atmosphere, and now is ready to use his skill Ventus Airus! Upon entering battle, Tornado Man causes minibursts that get the winds a-blowin, raising the wind multiplier!

Balance Changes

There are also a couple balancing changes that have taken place.
1. Did you know Oil Man used to only have 64 Attack? He wasn't able to make a dent into his enemies, let alone defeat them! In an effort to make him 'ore' useful, Oil Man's Energy was rasied by 1 and his Attack was raised by 15, and to compensate, his Defense was lowered by 4 and his Speed was lowered by 12. oil-man

2. Needle Cannon has been nerfed. It used to have base 24 power and 98% accuracy per hit, but now it is base 20 power and 80%. If you want to know how this averages out, Needle Cannon used to have an average base power of 70.56, and now has one of 48. It's a significant change, but also a necessary one. needle-cannon

And that's everything we have for you today. I imagine many people are getting more free time thanks to classes stopping, whether they be high school, college, university, or trade school based. If you're making any transitions into a new stage of life, I wish you the best of luck! I can't really say if you should expect to see any more new updates any time soon, but I hope I get to talk to you all again not too long from now.

Forever your's,
Tobyjoey tornado-man

It makes me sad that not a lot of people seem to use Mecha Support in this game. There are a bunch of neat moves and cool sprites and fun flavor text most players don't seem to know about. I wondered if the reason for this might be because people just don't always know what mecha Mecha Support is going to give them and what moves it's gonna have. It's fairly obvious for the Robot Masters from 1-4, but what about the ones beyond?

The Mecha Moveset is generated based on the following ruleset.
1. The Mecha always gets their signature ability.
2. The Mecha will have a Support, Swap, and Break move, each for a different stat. For Dr. Light, it starts with Attack Boost, Defense Break, and Speed Swap, for Dr. Wily it starts with Attack Break, Defense Swap, and Speed Boost, and for Dr. Cossack it starts with Attack Swap, Defense Boost, and Speed Break. However, each time you summon the mecha, it will cycle through these, so your support moves are always changing. If you haven't unlocked all of these, it will try to find the next equivalent move.
3. The Mecha will gain up to four moves from the original Robot Master that are compatable with the mecha's core.

Are you digging the Prototype players? Have any of you unearthed something exciting recently? I hope you aren't too shielded in your responses... I'll stop now.

Welcome to the second update of 2021! Did you miss me? I doubt it, considering just how fast this update has come out since the last one! We've got some good stuff here tonight, including an addition to something that I can't remember when it was updated last.

New Mecha: The Shield Attacker

It seems like these guys are around in every Mega Man game, ready to hurtle themselves at you at blistering speed, so it's about time they made their way into the Prototype!
shield-attacker    shield-attacker
shield-attacker    shield-attacker
They say the best offense is a good defense. Or was it that the best picket fence super-arm is nonsense? Either way, the Shield Attacker isn't afraid to put that shield of theirs to use! They will actually use their defense for damage calculation rather than their attack.
shield-attacker    fire-chaser    shield-attacker

The Shield Attacker is, to the surprise of no one, a shield core. This means you can now get shield shards. shield-shard
Why is this relevant? Because this means you can once again collect every single existant item in the game! pirate-man
Now, if you are a BP collector and just groaned at this, don't worry. The BP formula has been updated so that you now just need one copy of an item to earn BP for it, and owning more than one gives no boost.

If you're excited to get your hands on these shield shards, might I suggest using a recently updated ability?

Copy Soul is now capable of stealing the core energy of mechas! However, you're only gonna get a shard instead of a whole core, and don't expect the core shield to last for too long. bass_copy

However, if you're feeling lazy and are looking for a more passive way to get cores and shards, I'd suggest you take a look at...

New Skills

You ever wonder why they felt the need to give robots that just dig intelligence? Drill Man navigates around dangerous pipes, so he probably needed advanced navigation systems. As for Ground Man... maybe he needs it for the ruins he excavates? Is he just a robotic Indiana Jones? I need to jot this down for his bio. Anyway, let's get to the goods! Hopefully they aren't diamonds in the rough... sorry, I said I'd stop.

Ground Man isn't afraid to get his hands dirty, digging deep to find screws or a consumable item. Granted, he can only do it if he has an inventory to put it into, and the enemy doesn't have that, so you won't get to see it in action yet. Hey, it just helps build anticipation, right?

Now, I ain't saying Drill Man's a Gold Digger... cause he's really a core digger! Once every so often, Drill Man will burrow into the Earth and find a screw, a shard, or a core. He can still hold an item while doing this, because whatever he unearths gets placed directly into your inventory. Handy!

Notice how Drill Man dug up an Explode Core explode-core there and how Explode had a field multiplier greater than one? That wasn't a coincidence; Gold Digger will find cores and shards only if their field multiplier is at least 1.1. If you're playing a field with no elemental field multipliers, well, I hope you like bolts. Additionally, the higher level your robot is, the better quality loot you'll find.

drill-man super-arm super-arm freeze-core super-arm super-arm super-arm large-screw super-arm super-arm ground-man

I've been able to keep a pretty good flow in this update post with some really nice segues... and that stops here.

Don't say I never did anything for you,
Tobyjo-

Wait. Do you hear that? It sounds like...

AN INVASION!

Stardroid Sprites

Those madlads Rhythm and MegaBossMan have brought some hot, funky, sexy, cute, cool, crazy, other positive adjective, wonderful sprites for the Mega Man stardroids! It seems it's only a warning though, cause they haven't brought their leader yet, and you can't actually find them in the Prototype. Expect to see them all around the forums though!

Welcome to the first major update of 2021, my name is Tobyjoey, and I will be your guide for this flight. I hope you Northern Hemisphere residents haven't been too cold, and if you live somewhere warm, feel free to send some of that warmth our way. I hope everyone's 2021 is starting off on the right foot, but in case it hasn't here are some updates to brighten your spirits!

New Skills

Two Robot Masters have been given all new skills in this update! Let's see what they can do!

Nostalgic for the days Ring Man was a Cutter Robot Master? Well, now you can have the best of both worlds! Thanks to Ring Man's Honed Chakram, Ring man can fire off Metal Blades and Gyro Attacks alongside Star Crashes and Astro Crushes!

He might not be playable yet, but Spring Man isn't afraid to fight with everything he's got! Spring Man's Elastic Reach let's Spring Man target any robot on the field with nearly any move! Throw your opponent onto the bench with a Super Throw, then obliterate them from afar with a Dust Crusher!

Combat changes aren't the only updates made to the Prototype. Some graphical and organization details have also been updated! Let's take a look.
Dual Color Profiles

Ever wish your profiles could use multiple colors like text?

Well now you can!

Give yourself any cool color combination you can fathom! Or be boring like me and just combine to similar colors like Shield and Energy.

Game Menus Retooling

The tabs of the in game menu have been changed up, the most noticable change being the new icons and the new arsenal tab! There is some beautiful spritework in there!

Database Update

Sick of getting teased with the tantalizing Crystal Joe you can't actually seem to find anywhere in the Prototype? The in game datatbase has been updated to now only show you things you, the player, have encountered in your playthrough! Don't worry, you can still find all the old unaccessable information on the webpage database.

Ability Description Updates

No abilities were revised with this update, but some ability descriptions sure were!
Buster Shot received a new description to explain it's (somewhat) new multi hit mechanic. buster-shot
Crash Bomb's ignorance of offense and defense has been made more apparent. crash-bomber
Needle Cannon no longer claims to pierce the target's defense, a mechanic that has never been attached to the move. needle-cannon
Plant Barrier's recall mechanic has been explained. plant-barrier

As we reach the conclusion of this update write up, I will repeat something I had announced in a comment of the old update thread. I'm sure you've already seen it, but Astro Man and Crash Man have new skills which act as built in X-Treme Modules. This is probably redundant, but in case you've been busy and haven't been able to play or check the comments, there ya go. I won't leave as sentimental of a message as the last post, as fortunately for you all, I am no longer in the holiday spirit. Don't worry, come St. Patricks Day, I'll be pinching anyone who isn't using a Green profile color! Maybe you can use the new dual color profiles to mix some Irish Charm with whatever color you normally use?

Smell ya later,

What is this? Why has Tobyjoey posted a forum in the News & Updates community tab? The answer is quite simple; Adrian, Boss, and Rhythm work tirelessly behind the scenes to give new content to the Prototype, and someone needs to make sure all the rest of us masses notice and appreciate their hard work. Gaze upon their majesty! GAZE! Anyways, I'll be letting you all know what updates have been made to the Prototype, so expect to hear more from me. Enough waffling, let's get to the new stuff!

A new Robot Master has entered the Prototype, and let me tell you, he's a BLAST!

Blast Man

The explosive Blast Man makes his entrance, flaunting a beautifully expressive sprite sheet done by Rhythm. Blast Man comes equipped with five alts, including one based on the BlastMan.exe Net Navi. With him, Blast Man brings...
blast-man    chain-blast    blast-man
The Chain Blast! The Prototype is no stranger to sticky bomb type weapons, but Chain Blast stands out among the rest in it's ability to chain multiple Chain Blasts together into one huge explosion! Each fired Chain Blast will delay their collective timer one turn, so feel free to pepper your enemy with bombs before letting them have it. Unlike the Remote Mine, Chain Blasts don't have to be adjacent to one another to chain.

blast-man                blast-man

But that's not all Blast Man brings to the table. To make his artistic displays as dazzling as possible, Blast Man comes equipped the new skill Pyrotechnician, which raises the field multiplier for Explode upon entering the battle. He'll be sure to leave a dent in the opponent's team!

blast-man_alt3                blast-man_alt4

Like other new Robot Masters, to unlock Blast Man, you'll need to take him on in a brand new Challenge Mission! Make sure you blow all four Blast Men away in only eight turns before they turn you into a pile of ashes! And remember, to recruit Blast Man to your ranks, defeat the main Blast Man using only Neutral abilities. Don't lose track of who's who!

Holiday Outfits

Blast Man isn't the only one feeling festive. All three player characters are now decked out in holday garbs! Enjoy the jolly Dr. Light, the mischevious Dr. Wily, and the stoic Dr. Cossack.

New Skills

Furthermore, a new slew of skills that have been given to select Robot Masters. Let's take a look!

It seems Guts Man has a newfound confidence, as he has the new skill Unwavering, preventing his stats from being changed during battle! Guts Man can rumble with the best of them, and keep going too!

Dive Man may not be a Water Core, and he still isn't with his new skill. However, that doesn't mean the water doesn't help him! If the Water field multiplier has been boosted at all, Dive Man's Speed will be boosted by one stage after each turn, thanks to his skill Thalassophile.

The master of spacial distortions Gravity Man can bounce back from anything you throw at him. If Gravity Man's stats are altered, Topsy-Turvy will cause them to have the opposite effect! Remember, up is down and down is up!

Crystal Man's psychic skills have been further attuned in this update. If Crystal Man scans an enemy robot, Crystal Man's Clairvoyance allows him to see all the abilities the robot knows! Invade your enemy's privacy to get the upper hand!

Miscellaneous Changes

There are a few more changes that should be taken notice of.
1. The playable doctors now use their Base 2 sprites, and players of the Prototype can now use Base 2 sprites for their avatars! dr-light cut-man
2. Items knocked off by Quick Strike will now be re-equipped at the end of battle. quick-man
3. A two year old bug preventing the effects that trigger during stat boosts and breaks have been fixed. rhythm
4. Switching robots now counts as a turn. Maybe consider using some bulkier robots or robots with the ability to pivot? hard-man flash-man
5. Blast, Acid, Block, and Frost Man have new alts! frost-man_alt3
6. The difficulty of chapters 2 and 4 has been retooled with the removal of hard coded stat boosts against enemy robots. met
7. Pirate Man now appears in star fields. pirate-man

That about wraps up this recent update. You may now begin your uproarious applause, the first to stop clapping will be IP banned. In all seriousness, I know it has been a tough year for a lot of us, so I hope you can get as much joy as you can out of these upcoming holidays. Additionally, I think Adrian, MegaBossMan, and Rhythm should be commended to their dedication to this game, and also to Shadownico and Beta for their roles in our Discord and forums. You, the community are also vital to the success of the Prototype; how could you have an online rpg without people? Players are willing to put their ingenuity and creativity into this community, and I know projects like The Chaos Zone have given people something to look forward to in these uncertain times. Stay safe, let your loved ones know you care about them, and pray you don't get Quick Striked.

Sincerely,
Tobyjoey dive-man

We don't know how long Mega Maker will stay active, but for the time being, this thread will just be for putting level names and IDs. I will post mine in a separate comment, and at some point, maybe I will edit this post to give a general catalog.

Hello! I have always enjoyed doing solo Pokemon runs, and I have been in the mood to do one as of lately, but I have been having trouble deciding what Pokemon to use. So, if you are interested in voting, leave a vote in the Straw Poll below.

Hello everyone! Rather than being a game or an on going narrative, this is a file for storing fan made robot masters. Say you want to be able to show your robot to everyone at once, or you want to have an easy way to organize your robot's stats. Due to the fact this is made to be a tool other Role Playing Games, there are a few rules.

1. You cannot try to claim or enter a standard robot master, such as Wood Man or Tornado Man, whether they have sprites or not.
2. The Base Stat Total of your robot's stats must be 400.
3. Your robot may either have 1 or 2 main core. No more, no less.
4. This is just a catalog. Not a place to do fights.
5. Everything is Classic-series related. Nothing like Flame Stag, Guts Man.exe, or even outside franchises, like Samus Aran or Mario.
6. The best place for a detailed origin story is Bt's backstory thread, but if it is crucial to the character, an abridged version may be placed here.
7. Weakness, Resistances, Immunities, Affinities, and Abilities/Moves may be added.

As one final thing to note, while robots are posted down below, I will be updating this main intro comment to include accepted robot masters so you don't have to go searching for a specific post.

While I was enjoying the complete butchery of the English language in the CDs that can be found inMega Man and Bass, it occurred to me
Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10 never got their time to shine. So, I figured we could fix that by giving their robot masters CD Info! I would prefer if we would only did 1 post at a time, so those who want to participate will get a chance to. Feel free to redo your own version of a robot master, just realize others may prefer the original. Be creative, and remember: the Engrishier the better.

We should go in order of their serial numbers, so first would be Concrete, then Tornado, then Splash, so on and so forth.

I've been too wishy washy in my handling of the community challenge, and things went more smoothly when we had a voting system... so lets have a vote! We are deciding what the themeing of Dust Man's challenge should be, either the plotline of the 9 bots nearly being junked, are a theme of cleaning robots. If you'd like to have a visual aid, come check out the Discord. Attached to a post there will be some screenshots to show both. Keep in mind the fields/robots/stats/items are not final, just ideas for what we're working with. You are welcome to vote here or there which you would prefer!
