Wwwwwelcome to a brand new episode of Prototype Update! We've got a special show in store for you, so break out the TV dinners and get ready to meet contestant number one!
Knight Man
At long last, Knight Man makes his debut, meaning we now have a third impact core playable robot master! His sprite sheet was done by veteran member MetalMan and his alts were done by Rhythm. I encourage you to take a look at those alts; it's easy to think they are as simple as dumping the robot in a can of paint, but Rhythm puts a lot of thought into how to best represent a Robot Master's history and personality with these alternate costumes!
But Knight Man isn't here alone. How else could he build up another victory streak without his trusty Knight Crusher?! It's a pretty bulky weapon, so it might be slow to swing around, but expect it to do some serious damage, both on the way there and back! And thank goodness it's an impact move; could you imagine Ice Man or Acid Man trying to lug this thing around?
Speaking of impact core Robot Masters, Knight Man isn't the only cool kid on the block! Guts Man has a new sprite sheet courtesy of MegaBossMan.
To unlock Knight Man, you'll have to best him in a brand new Challenge Mission! Knight Man has brought a gaggle of warriors from the First Annual Robot Master tournament, and although this is Knight Man's round table, these other opponents aren't exactly pushovers!
New Skills
We also have a couple new skills in the Prototype! Let's take a look before we get derailed.
The old chunk of coal Charge Man refuses to change with the times, and now comes equipped with the skill One-Track Mind, preventing his stats from being changed during battle! He's stubborn as an ox and has the horsepower of a whole stampede, so don't take this oldtimer lightly!
Tornado Man has been hard at work mastering his control over the atmosphere, and now is ready to use his skill Ventus Airus! Upon entering battle, Tornado Man causes minibursts that get the winds a-blowin, raising the wind multiplier!
Balance Changes
There are also a couple balancing changes that have taken place. 1. Did you know Oil Man used to only have 64 Attack? He wasn't able to make a dent into his enemies, let alone defeat them! In an effort to make him 'ore' useful, Oil Man'sEnergy was rasied by 1 and his Attack was raised by 15, and to compensate, his Defense was lowered by 4 and his Speed was lowered by 12.
2. Needle Cannon has been nerfed. It used to have base 24 power and 98% accuracy per hit, but now it is base 20 power and 80%. If you want to know how this averages out, Needle Cannon used to have an average base power of 70.56, and now has one of 48. It's a significant change, but also a necessary one.
And that's everything we have for you today. I imagine many people are getting more free time thanks to classes stopping, whether they be high school, college, university, or trade school based. If you're making any transitions into a new stage of life, I wish you the best of luck! I can't really say if you should expect to see any more new updates any time soon, but I hope I get to talk to you all again not too long from now.
Forever your's, Tobyjoey
